Six years later...

Today is my daughter's birthday. She's 6 today...well this evening she will be technically 6 but who's keeping tabs? This morning I saw little hands climbing on my bed. Both kids wanted to snuggle. I couldn't believe I was a mother of two children. Life can pass you by without knowing it. I hugged both kids tightly as hubby snored next to us. lol

Today we are spending it with family and friends. We are not having a party but a little gathering. My daughter chose to have Chinese food for dinner and a pink castle cake as her birthday cake. Guess who's making the cake? Oui, moi! At least I won't have to cook tonight.

This morning I made monkey bread to celebrate her birthday. She's been asking for it this week but I wanted to make it on Thursday for an extra special treat. She helped and loved it. Here she is shaking the dough in cinnamon sugar. Can you tell she was very happy about helping me?

Tomorrow I will be going to the mall with my daughter. Girls time. She still hasn't spent her $25 gift card that she won at her school. She also won a pass for Imax for her perfect attendance. That will have to be for another day since we have to pick up my son from preschool.
I better decorate the cake before starting lunch. One of these days I hope my children will ask for a simple round or sheet cake. I hope because I am not a cake specialist.
A Bientot!
