Once in, we saw the new carousel It's beautiful. The animals are hand painted and there are still some open animals that you can "adopt" for a certain fee. For a mere $5000, you name will be displayed for 5 years and a mere $10 000 your name will be displayed for the life of the carousel. Cheap, huh? The kids had a ride and the man taking care of it took a picture of all of us. Very nice man.
Mom, ENOUGH with the pics now!
The zoo is going thru some major construction. I am actually happy since I always thought the zoo was "eh" just because I was used to large and fun zoos. They are building a new habitat for the giraffes. Holy moly! It's a 5 star hotel! lol Man, the rest of the animals are going to be jealous. They also build a platform where we can feed the giraffes like at Six Flags in Vallejo. Cool!
We peaked at the animal hospital and saw that a porcupine having a check up. It was under anesthesia for its protection and the staff. lol Can you image trying to hold on to keep in under control? Ouch!
After getting some ice cream, taking photos and getting cotton candy, it was time to go home. My son fell asleep on our way home. It was a lovely morning. We'll be going to the zoo more often this summer.
A Bientot!
