I do not like putting things on my fridge. I have a stainless steel fridge and only the sides are magnetic. I still don't like putting things on it but I sometimes have things that I would prefer out in the open so I won't forget.
I have been searching in stores for a cute magnetic board but I have seen nothing that catches my eye. I have seen some online but the prices are crazy! I'm a bargain hunter so there's no way I am paying more than $100 to have it shipped to me. So I decided to make one my own. hihihi
All you need is a frame, a steel sheet (or maybe a board painted with magnetic paint) and some fabric/paper.
Lets get started! First take out the glass frame if there is one. Now take the steel sheet (or painted board) and wrap it in your favorite fabric or paper. I used my trusty glue gun to glue the fabric down so that I get a nice smooth finish.

Now pop the wrapped sheet in the frame. You can insert one glass cover from the back if you have a gaping space.
And voila! A personalized magnetic board. I had this empty wall space between my kitchen and garage. Perfect spot to leave notes or anything that need to be seen. Also my favorite magnetic people can have a nice place to stick to. My best friend from back home gave me a wedding card that had them almost 9 years ago. I LOVE it and it reminds me of her and of my wedding day.
This is an easy project and the cost depends on the size of your board and the kids of fabric or paper. Now my fridge will be clean of paper clutter.A Bientot!

Oh this is great! I'm weird about my fridge like that too so I totally get this. I'll be linking to this if you don't mind.
Hi and welcome to my blog. I don't mind if you link my post. That's very nice of you.
I'll be looking at your blog too since I like to see what others do to make their home beautiful.
Wow, je l'ai reconnu avant de lire ton texte. J'aurai jamais pensé que tu l'avais encore. Déja 9 ans, ca passe vite.
I, too, am not a fan of things on my fridge :) You did a great job...thanks for sharing!
Blessings,
Michelle
I would love to do one of these for my laundry room. Where did you find the steel sheet?
Hey Mela!
Bien sure que je l'ai toujours! C'est un cadeau qui vient de toi. ;) Je suis contente que tu as laisse un message ici. :D
The sheet metal, you can get that an any hardware store. Some are precut and other not. If you have thin snips, you can cut it yourself (careful, wear gloves) or have the store do it. It cost me $16 for it.
